THE GOAL OF www.shopsniagara.com is to provide businesses in Niagara with an affordable web presence which is well-promoted and highly visible to local consumers. At the same time, it provides the shoppers of Niagara with a comfortable, time-and-energy saving method of "browsing" the shops, and finding the products and services they want, before they head out the door. We are not, at present, offering e-commerce (ie. online ordering). In future, this may become available, should there be sufficient demand. |
This website is promoted in local newspapers several times a week to draw area shoppers; in addition, we run paid banner advertising on popular local websites for geo-targeted exposure to the local internet users. The site is tracked to establish the effectiveness of local promotions, and advertising will be adjusted as required. The site is well-ranked and accessible on all major search engines, and is linked through Tourism Niagara's official website, as well as many other sites with global reach. We are listed with the Ontario Web Guide in their premium front-page spot for the Retail Shopping category, and are registered with the prestigious World Wide Web Chamber of Commerce. |
Our e-mail newsletter is sent out once a month, in which all recently-joined merchants are promoted individually. Our opt-in subscriber base numbers in the hundreds, and is growing daily. All subscribers are entered for a monthly draw....the monthly prize is cash, and/or gift certificates for products or services at one of our member-merchant's establishments. |
We maintain a user-friendly "Free Classified" section for personal "buy & sell", as a service to our viewers and to increase site exposure. No commercial ads are accepted in this section. |
Merchants may advertise on ShopsNiagara.com in various ways. If you do not have a website, we design and build a professional site for you which suits your business, and showcases the image you wish to convey. Pricing and payment terms are adjusted according to your needs and your budget. For those who already have websites, links are available for a small annual fee. Flash advertising banners are also available to merchants for a small fee, and include design and exclusive 24-hour-a-day placement on the front page of the site, linked directly to the merchant's home page. |
