THE GOAL OF www.shopsniagara.com is to provide businesses in Niagara with a modern medium in which to promote their products and services directly to local consumers extensively and elaborately in an affordable way. At the same time, it provides the shoppers of Niagara with a comfortable, time-and-energy saving method of "browsing" the shops, and finding the products and services they want, before they head out the door. We are not, at present, offering e-commerce (ie. online ordering). In future, this may become available, should there be sufficient demand. |
This website is promoted in local newspapers several times a week to draw area shoppers; in addition, we have banner advertising on popular local websites for geo-targeted exposure to the local internet users. The site is being tracked to establish the effectiveness of local promotions, and advertising will be adjusted as required. The site has been listed with all major search engines, and we are linked to Destination Niagara, the official website of Tourism Niagara, as well as many other sites with global reach. We are listed with the Ontario Web Guide in their premium front-page spot for the Retail Shopping category.. |
Our e-mail newsletter is sent out once a month, in which all recently-joined merchants are promoted individually. Our opt-in subscriber base is large, and growing daily. All subscribers are entered for a monthly draw....the monthly prize is cash, and/or gift certificates for products or services at one of our member-merchant's establishments. Our e-mail list will NOT be given or sold, in whole or in part, to any third party for any reason. |
